Gameplay
Godzilla 2019 is a kaiju that many beginners choose to use, as it is used as a requirement for many kaijus down the line that automatically are assumed to be better kaiju, like Monster Zero, Godzilla 2021, Mechagodzilla 2021 and even EVA-01. This causes beginners to choose it over other kaiju, giving the kaiju a bad reputation for not being good as they have not had time to skillfully utilise the abilities given. Although, with enough skill and knowledge, G19 can fight back and even rival endgame kaiju.
G19’s play style is recommended to be very aggressive, constantly using melee moves most of the time to keep in front of your opponent, facetanking most kaijus, but keeping medium distance and timing your attacks right for kaijus that are melee based. For G19, it is suggested that you use control lock most of the time for easier mobility, but like most other kaiju, it is better to use shift lock when beaming to improve your accuracy. If you are comfortable knowing you can finish off with your melees, you can beam a kaiju before you close in to kill it. Most of the time, you will start the fight up close, and if you ever need your beam, it is recommended to dash to a safe distance where you can comfortably beam without being melee spammed. Your stomp makes your dps (damage per second) up close better, but do not do it while facetanking. Stomp when you are at a distance where they will be hit by the stomp, but cannot spam you with their melees. Another tip with the stomp is if you are fighting a melee monster like Ultima or Mechagodzilla 2021, even if you do not hit them with the initial stomp, the damage inside the crater may just be enough to scare them off/overwhelm their melee’s to the point where you out-damage them and win.
When given the choice, unless you NEED to heal straight away, it is better to use your beam to balance you and your opponent’s hp. Another option, if you are open enough, is to heal and then beam if you have your bar at a high enough point to do so. Healing is a very risky move as it leaves you stationary, and should only be done when you know you will not be attacked while doing so, which would make the heal useless to begin with. Overall, making sure you keep melee pressure on your opponent aggressively and not letting up, and using your beam, stomp and heal when necessary will decide whether you come out on top.
When fighting a flier, make sure you have your stomp active, whether you time the initial stomp correctly or not, so they get grounded and don’t overwhelm you. This is the same for the tougher fliers, like Monster Zero and Destoroyah which can easily overwhelm many kaijus by default. When fighting these two, you may have to resort to going into the water to heighten your chances of survival. G19’s Primal Charge can be used facing upwards from the surface of the water to launch yourself out of the water. This can also be used to ambush kaiju on land. If you go to the surface of the water, there is a split second where you can use your whole moveset. This is where your best bet is to use your beam if you need to range something.
Godzilla 2019 Counters:
Now, for counters to G19 and kaijus G19 counters. The kaiju that counter G19 are Destoroyah, Monster Zero, Titanus Rodan, Mechagodzilla 2021 and Godzilla Ultima. These kaiju either evade G19 through flying or can deal more damage up close than it. There are ways around this, as G19’s moveset can even counter his own counters. Stomping/using water to your advantage to prevent being baited by the fliers of this group of counters.
For the melee spammers, stomping so you can scare/overwhelm their own spam, and attempting to range them with your beam in between might just be enough to win. Kaijus' G19 counters are Godzilla 2014, Female Muto, Cherno Alpha and sometimes Kamakura-San. The first 3 can all be overwhelmed in close combat, more so when beaming before you close in as some skilled variants of these kaijus can bait your melees. Kamakura-San can go either way, as it struggles up close, but if you do not go up close in time or use your melees incorrectly, they can finish you off with relative ease.

Build #1: 4/4/4/8This build is an all around build, made for giving all edges to you. Giving you health, enough charge to ensure you will not run out, and speed to buff your mobility on land and in water to a bigger extent while still keeping your amazing damage output, and even exceeding your max damage (with no radiation while having this build’s radiation at max). Giving G19 buffed attributes in every area makes this one of the best builds you can have with G19. A small con is that you do not have as much damage as you could have, but it is nothing too big, as you can gain damage with raising your radiation.
|
Build #2: 10/0/0/10This build is centred around being more of a tank, taking out the speed and charge in favor of boosting its health and attack to the maximum. This build is for players who’d rather fight up close and stay in melee range, spamming said melee attacks. This build improves G19 in close range more than other builds, but can hinder your charge if you are not careful with how you use your moves. This also lowers G19’s mobility, which can also be worked around with Primal Charge.
|
Build #3: 0/3/7/10This build looks to make G19 a more agile kaiju, giving it a lot more speed and using its attacks more sparingly while giving serviceable regen to not run out as easily. This also boosts G19’s speed underwater greatly, improving water combat and making it more usable in the water to bait your land/sky foes in the water. The cons with this build are that you must be careful when up close and personal with other kaijus, as you are more fragile than usual.
